Dr. Chelsea Robinson

Chiropractic Physician/owner

Dr. Chelsea Robinson, formerly known as Dr. Vallario, leads Athlete Recovery & Chiropractic Health as the principal Chiropractic Physician and original owner. Established in 2018 in Rock Hill, her practice embodies a commitment to fostering a welcoming environment centered on sports and family-oriented chiropractic care, functional movement, as well as injury recovery and prevention.

Her affinity for chiropractic care dates to her teenage years as an active athlete growing up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She grappled with severe shin splints and debilitating knee pain that threatened her athletic pursuits. Following countless attempts by conventional medicine to alleviate her symptoms, she found solace and resolution through the biomechanical and hands-on approach of chiropractic treatment. This transformative experience ignited her passion for chiropractic care, compelling her to embark on a career dedicated to enhancing the health and performance of other athletes.

Dr. Robinson pursued her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Human Physiology at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte in an accelerated three-year timeframe. Subsequently, she embarked on her Doctorate program in St. Louis, Missouri, where she obtained both a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Life Science and a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic from Logan University.

Outside of the office, she has continued her education both locally and internationally, training and treating around the globe alongside some of the best in sports medicine. She has been fortunate to work with athletes from the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies, professional climbers and dancers as well as providing care as the team doctor for high school and collegiate level baseball, volleyball and rugby. Traveling as far as Italy and France as a member of FICS, the Federation of International Chiropractic of Sports, she continues to work towards her International Chiropractic Sports Certification and train with other sports chiros from Australia, Europe, Canada, Asia and South America.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Robinson cherishes spending quality time with her husband and loved ones. Their shared interests include travel, SCUBA diving, sailing, and skiing. Closer to home, they enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, water sports, and enjoying the company of their chocolate lab as well as rock climbing, yoga, running, and cooking.

Driven by her personal journey and fueled by a fervent desire to serve her community in the Carolinas, Dr. Robinson is committed to delivering unparalleled proactive healthcare while keeping quality time with her family a top priority.

Dr. Jesse Han

Chiropractic Physician

The Rugby guy

Dr. Jesse Han is a New Jersey native who grew up playing sports his whole life. The trajectory of his future changed drastically during his senior year of high school after tearing his ACL. Following 2 surgeries and 3 years of rehabilitation, Dr. Jesse was recruited to play football at The College of New Jersey as a Running back. After that season, he transferred to George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he received his bachelor of science degree in Exercise Science with a focus on Strength and Conditioning.

During his time in D.C., Dr. Jesse discovered the sport of rugby and the value of chiropractic care. He was intrigued by the functional approach and detail that chiropractic offered. While dealing with multiple injuries, functional chiropractic care is what kept him healthy, allowing him to become both rookie and most improved player of the year. Wanting to pursue further education, Dr. Jesse received an athletic scholarship to play Division 1 Rugby while pursuing his doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

In the classroom, he was an active member of Motion Palpation Institute (MPI) and Rehab 2 Performance (R2P). During the clinical portion of his curriculum, he spent countless hours in the sports rehabilitation clinic, treating his teammates, along with other athletes in the Quad Cities. Going above and beyond the required curriculum, he obtained over 150 additional hours of extensive training in the most up-to-date treatment protocols and approaches to musculoskeletal care.

During the tail end of his curriculum, Dr. Jesse completed his residency training at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. During his time at the VA, he was vigorously trained in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), otherwise known as McKenzie therapy. MDT is regarded as one of the best assessments and treatments for musculoskeletal conditions, utilizing spine and joint movements to further understand, diagnose, and treat different conditions. One of his favorite parts was working in an integrative system alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, neurologists, and pain management clinicians.

Dr. Jesse adopts the Rehab 2 Performance model of care, which is driven by a thorough assessment that uncovers each individual’s specific movement gaps, goals, and limitations. He believes in individualized treatment plans with the goal of empowering his patients to take control of their own health by bridging the gap between rehab and performance.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Jesse continues to pursue his passion for Rugby. He currently plays for the Charlotte Barbarians Rugby Football Club and also coaches at Ballantyne-Ridge High School and for the nationally-ranked Charlotte Tigers. He also enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, going to the gym, playing sports, and spending time with his family and friends.
